Although many of the Quality Education for All Fund investments are in direct support for programs, it is also important to ensure that Duval County Public Schools has the right policies and practices to ensure that it will be successful in the long term.
This grant engaged The New Teacher Project, a nonprofit organization that has worked with school districts all over the country, in 2014 to conduct a deep audit of existing human resources policies and practices to ensure they match best practices.
In addition, The New Teacher Project will work with the district to develop the state’s first Common Core aligned teacher observation rubric.
This is a district-wide initiative, and thus will impact all schools within Duval County Public Schools positively, while also ensuring that the district is set up to ensure that the students with the highest needs are matched with the teachers who can best help them succeed.
