The Quality Education for All Fund is committed to supporting strong teachers and leaders in Duval County Public Schools. In response to the District’s need to maintain a bench of strong leaders for its most challenging schools, the Quality Education for All Fund is investing in the New Leaders organization to work in DCPS. New Leaders is a national nonprofit organization with a mission to ensure high academic achievement for all students by developing outstanding school leaders to serve in urban schools. The Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) is a program offering from New Leaders that is designed to develop the leadership abilities of promising teachers and assistant principals. Through an investment from the Quality Education for All Fund, DCPS will implement this program for up to 40 assistant principals across the school district. ELP is built upon four key aspects: job embedded professional development for teachers and assistant principals, evidence of implementation and expert feedback, a focus on instructional leadership skills and putting learning into practice in schools, while building skills in adult leadership, instructional leadership, culture leadership, and personal leadership.
